Quiz 6
READING COMPREHENSION
Q1.  Read the e-mail. Then check True or False
Subject: Funny coincidence

Hi Claire! I was just thinking about you, because the strangest thing happened to me yesterday. When I was leaving my house in the morning, I saw a crow in a tree, and I remembered that superstition you told me: If you see a crow in the morning, you’ll have a bad day.

Well, part of my day was bad, so I guess the superstition’s sort of true. I had just shut the door to the house when I realized I had forgotten my keys inside. I usually keep an extra key outside, but I had lent it to my friend Tina when she visited, and she had forgotten to return it. I started to panic. I couldn’t be late for work because I had been late twice the week before. My boss would kill me! So I ran down the street to the bus stop. Soon after arriving at the bus stop, I heard someone in a passing car shout, “Hey, Kathy, do you need a ride?” It was Mike Green – my boss! I didn’t want to be rude, so I just said, “Sure”, and got into the car.

Mike and I talked the whole way to work. We found out that we had lived in the same city when we were in grad school. We had hung out a lot at the same places, and we had even known some of the same people! There were so many amazing coincidences. I felt like I had known him forever.
